AUM Framing & Gallery is located at 2227 E. Colfax Ave on the northwest side of the East Colfax and York Street intersection in the City Park West neighborhood of Denver. We’ve been here since 1989; prior to that we were located in the South Park Hill neighborhood further east on Colfax Ave.
For those that don’t know the history & geography of Denver, Colfax Ave (East & West) is the longest avenue in America. It extends a total length of 26.5 miles through the cities of Aurora, Denver, Lakewood and Golden, Colorado. The area around us has changed significantly (for the better) over the past few years. Our neighbors now include the Three Lions (a World Football Pub) and several restaurants, Okinawa, Pinche Tacqueria, Marco’s Pizza, and Noodles all of whom have opened in the last 3 years.
The Three Lions (and the floors above it housing offices) are in what was the Capitol Hill State Bank building. Built in 1912 in the Classical Revival style, it was originally a one story building but was later expanded to three stories and by 1925 in contained medical offices, architects, insurance agencies, and other businesses. Our own building dates back to the 1920s.
AUM has always been a destination for Denver’s art community; over the last 30 years we’ve helped over 5,000 separate customers with their framing projects. Our clients include some of the most well known individuals, corporations, galleries, artists, and non-profits in the area.
We like to give back to the local community and we support as many organizations as we can. The last few years we’ve been one of the major supporters of the East High Arts Walk and we hold a show for selected student’s work each Spring with proceeds from sales going back to the students and the Art Department.
