For a truly custom frame, closed-corner frames (also called finished-corner frames) are the ideal choice. Built from raw wood and finished after assembly, these frames have seamless corners where joins are invisible, creating a refined, hand-crafted look.
Except for some specialized carves or gilding choices (done by a specialized partner), each closed-corner frame is made in our Denver workshop, allowing for complete customization.
Whether you’re framing an antique portrait or a contemporary piece, we’ll help you choose the style, finish, and carve details that best complement your art. From old-world elegance to sleek, modern lines, we offer an extensive selection of handcrafted moulding samples.
We use time-honored techniques to create museum-quality frames:
- Multiple layers of gesso applied and sanded for a smooth base.
- Hand-carving from existing patterns or custom designs created just for you.
- Gilding with leaf applied over a colored base to achieve your desired tone.
We’ve built hundreds of closed-corner frames for museums, collectors, and galleries throughout the U.S. Our team specializes in creating unique, high-quality frames that become works of art in their own right.
