David
Senior Framer/Designer
David has been framing for over 30 years, beginning his career in New Orleans and moving to Denver to work at Turner Art Gallery in Cherry Creek in the mid-80s. Having gained extensive experience in framing antique botanicals, collectible etchings, maps, and engravings, he opened his own business in Crested Butte in 1988. He spent 20 years running that business before moving to a gallery in Austin, TX and then to a frame shop in Dallas, TX where he did work for Dallas Art Museum amongst others. In 2020, he moved back to CO working for a frame store in Basalt who’s main clients were Aspen Art Museum and Gallerie Maximillian. He joined us in mid 2021.
In his spare time he collects books and writes (some of his poetry has been published). He also loves baseball and mountain biking.
Gloria
Senior Designer/Framer
Gloria has been framing for over 25 years and especially enjoys framing textiles, which is not surprising given that two of her hobbies are needlework and quilting. As with the rest of the staff, she’s extremely knowledgeable in Museum/Conservation Framing techniques. She worked at the renowned Platte River Art Services before that company closed its doors, where her favorite project was framing vintage bathing suits and caps.
An accomplished artist herself, Gloria loves animals and nature. In the summer, she spends most of her spare time gardening, when her drawing and painting take a back seat.
Heather
Senior Designer/Framer
Heather has been framing since just before starting school at The Columbus College of Art and Design. She has been dedicated to the profession ever since, and has passed the Certified Picture Framers exam. She has extensive experience framing vintage posters, antique maps, needleworks, as well as original artworks in every medium.
Jeff
Lead Designer/Master Framer
Jeff is likely to be the first person you meet as you enter the store, as he spends most of his day in the design area. He has custom framed all kinds of art for more than 30 years. He trained at Turner Art Gallery in Denver in the early 80’s. At that time, Turner was the oldest gallery and frame shop in Colorado and, according to many, the best. Jeff’s biased, but knowledgeable, view is that AUM Framing and Gallery/Dry Creek Gold Leaf is now Denver’s finest custom frame shop.
Jeff has led and participated in some of the most incredible projects ever to have passed through any custom frame shop. Our clients know that we routinely do things that other framers won’t even think of trying. As lead designer, Jeff sets the bar for cutting-edge design and execution. He loves being part of a team that possesses such artistic talent and creativity.
When he’s away from the frame shop, Jeff spends time with family and friends, often out on the softball field. Being a Colorado native, he also enjoys all things mountainous.
Kim
Designer/Framer/Restoration Specialist
Kim has been framing since 2019, the same year that she moved from Long Island, NY to Denver. She studied painting at the State University of New York at New Paltz, graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Before joining the team at AUM, Kim also worked as an art restoration specialist.
Kim particularly enjoys utilizing her color matching and painting skills by creating custom frame finishes for our clients. An avid concertgoer who has seen Phish over 60 times, Kim’s favorite things to frame are concert posters.
When she’s not working or traveling to see live music, she loves to cook, paint, and spend time with her cats, Jolene and Henry.
Trevor
President
Trevor spent 30 years running computer software development teams across the globe. Originally from Blackpool, England, his career brought him to the US in 1982 and to Denver in 2006. His epiphany came in the fall of 2009 when he finally decided that he’d never find the perfect company to work for unless he ran it himself, and so he purchased AUM Framing & Gallery and later Dry Creek Gold Leaf and, finally, Cherry Creek Custom Framing, now all housed under one roof on E. Colfax Ave.
Trevor loves traveling (especially to a beach), good food, wine, and microbrews, possessing a particular fondness for IPAs. He loves muscle and sports cars, fishing, hockey, baseball, and, of course, art, which is why this job is a perfect match for him.
